Have you Heard of Beautycounter? it’s the leader in Clean Beauty.

Hey guys! So if you didn’t know, I’m a Beautycounter consultant. What is Beautycounter? Beautycounter is a company who is leading the future when it comes to clean beauty. Not only is the brand committed to clean skincare and makeup, but they also take action by advocating for safer skincare laws within the United States. Why is this important? It’s important because “The EU law bans 1,328 chemicals from cosmetics that are known or suspected to cause cancer, genetic mutation, reproductive harm or birth defects. In comparison, the U.S. FDA has only banned or restricted 11 chemicals from cosmetics” (safecosmetics.org). That is outrageous! The skin is the largest organ in our body and it’s important that we protect it from harmful chemicals and toxins. We should have more laws in the United States that protect our bodies both inside and out. That’s why I became a Beautycounter consultant. I wanted to teach my clients more about the importance of clean beauty and also help to positively impact our country by advocating for safer skincare laws.

Let’s start the teaching by having you check all of the items in your bathroom, kitchen, and makeup bag, and see if any of the items contain ingredients that are found on the Never List below.

When I first found out how many toxic ingredients I could possibly be putting on my body, I immediately checked all of my products and threw away any offenders. I promptly replaced them with products from Beautycounter and other clean brands. Think about it, the average lady does the following morning routine: washes her face with a cleanser, applies a moisturizer ( serum, sunscreen, eye cream, ect.), brushes her teeth, lotions, puts on deodorant, maybe she showers in the morning and uses body wash, washes her hands with soap, and applies makeup (eyeliner, mascara, foundation, lipstick, ect.) That’s 8 to 20 products used daily that could all contain toxins that may be negatively affecting your body. These effects could be : hormonal imbalance, fertility issues, cancer risk, neurological disorders, mental health problems, and inflammation. Now that I’ve got you thinking, are you ready to make the clean swap?

Below are a few of the items that I started using when I first made the swap. They’re my essentials and I use them at home and when I travel. I wanted you to see that I actually use and stand behind these products. I love that I am able to share products that I love and spread the word about clean beauty while making extra money as a consultant. I’ll explain how I make extra money with Beautycounter further down this page for those of you who are interested in learning more about the business ( this isn’t a brand deal or campaign in case you were wondering).

Skincare

I have had the pleasure of trying a few different skincare sets from Beautycounter. I have acne prone skin so I started with using the Countercontrol collection. This collection is specifically made for acne prone skin. The must haves that I use daily are the Clear Pore Cleanser, All Over Acne Treatment, and SOS Spot Treatment.

The CounterTime collection is formulated for people who’s main concern is anti-aging. I recommend this line for people over 30. In addition to the products that I use from the CounterControl collection, I use the following CounterTime products daily: Antioxident Soft Cream, Ultra Renewal Eye Cream, Tetrapedtide Supreme Cream, and Tetrapeptide Radience Serum.

The CounterMatch collection is perfect for people under 30 and/or have combination skin. What I love about this collection is it provides moisture to your skin when it needs it and prevents your skin from becoming too oily. It’s a perfect way to balance the skin. These products are very light and perfect for people who are just starting out with their skincare routine. I’m a big fan of the Adaptive Moisture Lotion, Hydra Gel Radiance Toner, Eye Rescue Cream, and Intense Moisture Serum. I use to use all of these products daily in addition to the CounterControl line before I turned 30.

Don’t worry men I didn’t leave you out! Although all of the collections mentioned above are gender neutral, the CounterMan collection is made specifically for men! The men in my life love the line and I’m sure you will too. Click the image below to explore the CounterMan collection further.

Makeup

Now ladies, let’s chat makeup! If you’re just dipping your toe into makeup, then I recommend the Flawless in Five collection. It’s named this because with this set, it takes you less then 5 minutes to look flawless. I really enjoy it because you can try out all of the best Beautycounter makeup products at an amazing discounted price. I use the eyeliner, mascara, brow pencil, concealer, and lipgloss daily. I use the foundation whenever I have photoshoots and the brow gel as a touch up ( pro tip: the brow gel is also amazing for slicking down your edges 💁🏾‍♀️).

My selections and shades are: Skin Twin Foundation Dark 520. Skin Twin Creamy Concealer Dark 2, Brow Pencil Dark, Volumizing Mascara, Sorbet Blush, and Mulberry beyond gloss. If you need help figuring out your shade click here.

Below you’ll find some other Beautycounter products that are must haves for me. These I just purchase individually instead of as a set.

Since I am a very active person, I wanted to highlight the new Clean Duo deodorant. It is aluminum free of course (you don’t want deodorants with aluminum in them) and it actually works! If you try it out and you feel like you have oder, try detoxing your armpits with a Charcoal mask first and then applying the Clean Duo. Your body just needs a chance to rid itself of toxins. So allow at least a 2 week transition period when trying out the Clean Duo. before deciding if it’s working for you or not.

The Duo allows you to replace the cartridge with the Clean Duo refill to reduce waste. I love how environmentally conscious Beautycounter is when considering how to package their products. The Clean Duo is gender neutral so perfect for everyone in your household.
